FLOYD BENNETT FIELD Beach Clean up
Our young scientists visited Floyd Bennett Field to clean up the beach and to help fix some of the issues caused by pollution. Upon arriving, we were shocked at how much trash was strewn about the beach - from bottles to tires and everything in between. Our scholars and teachers spent hours cleaning up the beach and exploring the wild life. We analyzed the impact upon some of the organisms that were native to the beach. It was an incredible day that helped to illustrate for us just how important it is for humanity to try harder to clean our planet up!
Museum of NAtural History
Our students took an amazing field trip to the New York Museum of Natural History! We explored the dinosaur exhibit, the space exhibit and explored a number of other science centered areas in the museum. Our students were enthralled and made a great many connections to what they learned in class.
Debate Team trips
Our debate team has undertaken dozens of trips to compete with other schools all over New York City. We have been to Queens and the Bronx, at different schools all over. We have won dozens of awards and had tons of fun. Brooklyn Bridge park
Our 267 scholars visited Brooklyn Bridge Park for a trip full of variety. Our students had a choice of either studying ecological conditions within the area with their science teacher, attempting to determine conditions and brainstorming solutions to some of the issues they noticed. Another group focused on health and fitness with their health teacher, working on cardio and weight activities, checking their fitness levels and measuring their heart rates. A third group focused on their basketball skills with their physical education teacher. Each group selected their first activity and switched up during the course of our day there. All scholars had a great time, but also learned a great deal!

Museum of modern art
Our scholars visited the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) to learn about the many interesting and historically important pieces of art that they have. We had a great tour guide, who had a great deal of knowledge and was very interesting as he explained each piece in detail. He was able to explain every detail and answer each and every question about their large collection of art. We learned a lot and had so much fun!
Brooklyn Children's museum

Brooklyn College Campus Tour
We went on a fabulous trip to the Brooklyn College Campus, where we were given a tour and encouraged to observe college life. From exploring the campus, speaking to college students and sitting in on some classes, our scholars were able to get a very unique insight into what college life looks like and feels like.
College Access for all kick off event
Our young scholars attended the College Access for All program kick off, where we were given a great deal of information about District 16's plan to set up students for success as they think about college and their careers. We were treated to special guest Funk Master Flex, who was kind enough to take the time to speak to our students about his experiences and give them advice for how to achieve success. It was a very fun and informative trip, where we all learned a lot about the importance of education and college for all of our students.
